What type of information does Texas Treats COLLECT and how is the information USED?

While you are visiting the Sites, Texas Treats may collect two types of information about users: 

(1) "Personal Information" (such as name, email address, mailing address, phone, credit card or debit card, personal preferences and other account-related information); and

(2) "Aggregate Information" (such as information about how many users log on to the Sites on a daily basis).

Personal Information That You Provide to Us

We may obtain Personal Information about you only if you elect to give us that information. Types of Personal Information will include the following:

At no time will Texas Treats ask you for your Social Security Number.  We may request Personal Information, such as your user name or password, whenever you login to your account and may in limited circumstances ask you to provide credit card information and other personal information when purchasing goods that are offered for sale on the Sites. We will limit our request to that information necessary to complete your request or the transaction.  We reserve the right to request any additional information necessary to establish and maintain your account.  Generally, our uses of Personal Information collected online include, without limitation, responding to your inquiries or questions online, enabling you to set up an account, purchasing products, or providing information, such as order confirmation and delivery notices.  However, we will not send marketing communications and newsletters using your Personal Information unless you first opt-in to participate in our mailing lists or sharing such information with others.  Even after you opt-in, you can request to be removed from such mailing list or newsletters by notifying Texas Treats directly or updating your account as provided below in this Privacy Policy.

Texas Treats will retain your Personal Information for fulfillment of the intended purposes for which such Personal Information is collected.  Texas Treats will establish minimum and maximum retention periods based upon the type of information collected (i.e., sensitivity), the intended purposes and as otherwise may be legally required. 

Aggregate Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Sites, we automatically collect Aggregate Information about your visit. We can tell the type of computer, browser, and web service that you are using. We also know the date, time, and pages that you visit. Collecting this information helps us design the Sites to enhance your experience while on our Sites. 

Texas Treats also may use Aggregate Information for internal purposes, such as tracking demographic data to make the Sites more useful to our visitors.  In particular, Texas Treats will collect an IP Address from all visitors to the Sites. An IP Address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet.  Aggregate Information also may include computer and connection information such as browser type and version, operating system and platform, purchase history, shopping history, and the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) click stream to, through and from the Sites (including date and time)

Texas Treats may share Aggregate Information with its suppliers, business partners, advertisers, service providers or other third parties for any internal business purpose or to satisfy our contractual obligations with those third party providers (such as AAFES).   We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our Sites, analyze trends, track users' movement on the Sites, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the Sites, and deliver customized, personalized content.  Aggregate Information, however, are not linked to Personal Information.  Texas Treats also may use an unique assigned number located with the Sites' URL to determine the web site from which you navigated to get to the Sites.  While this number may not be apparent to you, it does not contain your Personal Information.

Does Texas Treats use COOKIES, OTHER TECHNOLOGIES or THIRD PARTIES to INDIRECTLY collect information the Sites?

The Sites may use cookies to enhance your experience while using the Sites.  Cookies are pieces of information that some web sites transfer to the computer that is browsing that site and are used for record-keeping purposes at many web sites.  Use of cookies makes web-surfing easier by performing certain functions such as saving your passwords, your personal preferences regarding your use of the particular web site and to make sure you do not see the same content repeatedly.  Many consider the use of cookies to be an industry standard.

If you choose to have your browser refuse cookies, it is possible that some areas of our Sites will not function properly when you view them.

The Sites also may use other technologies to track the specific pages viewed by visitors on the Sites. This non-identifiable click-stream data helps us understand how visitors use the Sites.

Does Texas Treats SHARE the information that I have provided or that has been collected?

Texas Treats may need to share Personal Information with third parties in limited circumstances. For example, we may release Personal Information to third parties to perform services on our behalf such as hosting the Sites, announcing our upcoming sales or events, products, order delivery notification and confirmation or processing credit card payments, and to provide quality of services. We also reserve the right to share, assign or transfer your Personal Information and any Aggregate Information to any of our affiliates or any successor in interest to our company by merger, reorganization, or operation of law.  However we will not sell, rent or lease our customer lists that include your Personal Information to third parties.

How does Texas Treats SECURE my Personal Information?

Texas Treats maintains commercially reasonable safeguards to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of the Personal Information provided by you.  Such security safeguards are intended to be appropriate to the sensitivity of the Personal Information collected. To the extent Texas Treats transfers any Personal Information to third-parties, Texas Treats will use commercially reasonable efforts to assure that such third-parties to whom it may transfer any Personal Information have knowledge of this Privacy Policy and provide sufficient protection of such Personal Information. It may be possible for third parties not under the control of Texas Treats to intercept or access transmissions or private communications unlawfully. Texas Treats will take best common security practices to protect any Personal Information submitted to us from loss, misuse or unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.

Does Texas Treats collect Personal Information from CHILDREN?

Since the Sites are not designed specifically for children, Texas Treats does not intentionally collect Personal Information from children under the age of 13.  If we discover that we have inadvertently collected Personal Information from a person under the age of 13, we will automatically delete it.   If a parent elects to establish an account for their child, then Texas Treats will require written consent from the child's parent (or legal guardian) to collect, use and share that child's Personal Information online.

Does this Privacy Policy apply to any of the links on the Sites to other websites?

The Site may contain links to sites other than those web sites owned or operated by Texas Treats. Those web sites may have their own privacy policy, or no privacy policy at all.  Texas Treat has no responsibility for those web sites and provide these links solely for the convenience of the Sites' users. If I give Texas Treats the name and email address of my family or friends, how is that information used?

If you elect to use any features of the Sites (such as "Gift Order") to inform a friend about the Sites or request delivery of our products directly to a friend or otherwise communicate, Texas Treats may ask for your friend's name, email address, physical address, telephone number or other information pertinent to the delivery of the order that you request.  The Sites may automatically send the friend emails inviting them to visit the Sites or otherwise provide the information related to your order.  Texas Treats will store this information for the sole purpose of sending those emails.  Your friend may contact Texas Treats to request the removal of this information from our databases at the same address provided above for changes to your account.
