"You may all go to Hell and I will go to Texas" -- Davy Crockett spoke these words in 1835 when he ran for a seat in the United States Congress (representing the state of Tennessee). He declared that if he lost the election, the people in his district "may go to hell and I will go to Texas". Well, Davy Crockett lost the election. He joined the Volunteers in the fight for Texas Independence and died at the Battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1936.
This large (16 oz.) cobalt ceramic blue mug reads "Texas: The Lone Star State" on one side and "You may all go to hell and I will go to Texas -- Davy Crockett" on the other side.
